I have been playing the game from New Zealand with paid VPN for 2 years on the Chinese Server, on a good time it's at 220ms ping, and on a busy hour it's 260ms ping, and i was able to enjoy the game and raids for 2 years. MMO's are dying, and it's not because people don't want to play them. Oh well, it's not like there is a single Western publisher that actually cares about their games anyway. It's just screwing over anyone not in the US/EU for realistically no reason. At least if the server was on the West it would be playable from OCE and SEA. If the CN version had english UI/subtitles option, or auto translate feature like FF14, then it would be playable. You're missing out on a lot by skipping the story in MMO's just because you want to rush to end game. Shouldn't even need to mention how good FF14 or SWTOR is. Also, from what I've heard, this game has a decent story. Hard to do that on a server with a foreign language. Originally posted by ✵The Red Comet✵:Play the Chinese version then lol, you don't really need to understand Chinese to enjoy it since MMOs are about the gameplay and not the story. I always expect the server to be on the West Coast b/c thats where they normally are but now that I know its east I can finally play an mmo with low latency even from NA east to NA west we get 70-90 ping I didnt know the server is going to be on the East Coast but now im super excited. Even Blade & Soul was still playable from AUS.Ĭan anyone explain why they would place the servers on the East coast? Because I can only assume it's pure laziness and/or money saving. When SWTOR got rid of their US West servers, any Australians that were still playing ended up leaving, and ping isn't even a huge factor being tab-target combat. Do they expect us to be able to play at 260+ms ping? MMO's with servers in Cali can give us about 160ms for comparison. Why have the server on the East side of the US? You are only moving the server further away from literally every other country except from the EU, compared to having it in Central or West NA.Īustralia is listed on the FAQ of available regions. We never play on the EU servers so that was a given. However, the server locations are Germany and EAST NA.
